-intro (orbit, zoom and pan tools)

 

Sketchup Video Tutorial 2

-Rules for drawing edges:

Draw a  closed group of edges to create a surface. Edges snap to endpoints (marked by a green dot.)

All edges must be in the same plane and automatically line up with one of the red, blue or green  axis lines.

Watch the axis lines and use inferring to line up edges using endpoints and midpoints.

Only draw to and from edges- don't draw an edge over another edge.

 

Sketchup Video Tutorial 3

-The push/pull tool. Convert 2D shape to a 3D object.

Type in measurements to get desired sized lines or objects.

Create openings in objects with parallel sides

-How to use the move tool. Move endpoints, edges, surfaces, selected entities & group objects

 

Use the Rotating Tool

You can rotate on the red, blue or green axis lines to get movements.

 

Use tape measure tool to measure

 

Use tape measure tool to create guide points

 

Make a table

 

Adding Components

In the toolbar, go  to Window- components. Search the 3D warehouse for components people have already created.

Find everything from flowers to coke machines.

 

Self-Paced Tutorial

These are step by step directions for specific tasks.  

 

 

Click on download Model and these tutorials will come up right inside Google Sketchup  for you to complete.

After you download, the Google Sketchup windows pops- up.
